Rolex Datejust Ref. 6605 – Rare 18K Rose Gold, Cream Dial (1956)
This Rolex Datejust Ref. 6605 from 1956 is an exceptionally rare example in 18k rose gold. During the 1950s, the vast majority of Datejust production focused on steel, steel and gold, and yellow gold cases, making rose gold one of the least commonly encountered configurations today.
The watch features a beautiful cream-colored dial with original radium lume dots and matching radium hands, preserved in very good, honest condition. The dial shows attractive, period-correct aging that complements the warm tone of the rose gold case perfectly.
Rose gold Rolex watches from this era were typically produced in very small numbers, often as special or low-volume orders, rather than standard catalogue pieces. As a result, surviving examples such as this are rarely seen and highly desirable among seasoned vintage collectors.
A refined and highly collectible early Datejust, combining rarity, originality, and timeless mid-century Rolex design.
